Deb Murphy
Intrigued by the Mind-Body connection early in life, Debbi chose to obtain a masters in psychology & doctorate in exercise science from the University of Mo in the seventies. During this time, she taught at the university & the University of Missouri Medical Center and held a weekly television spot as the community's "fitness expert". Believing there was still a piece missing, she also pursued the study of yoga with master teachers such as John Friend, Richard Freeman, Rodney Yee, Shiva Rea and Seane Corn but felt she had truly "come home" when she took her teacher training from Erich Schiffmann. Compelled to create a space dedicated to "finding peace within", Debbi & fellow yogi, Pam Blasco, built Shanti Yoga Studio & School in 2001. Since then, Shanti hosts weekly classes, monthly workshops & advanced study/teacher training workshops. Their Teacher Training program developed out of hundreds of hours of study & practice and emphasizes the transformative power of yoga. Through personal experience and from teaching for the past 20 years, Debbi believes this power not only changes the person, but allows the practitioner to impact the evolving, dynamic art & science of yoga. Debbi loves to teach yoga and has expanded her schedule to include classes at other locations including Om Yoga in Sayulita, Mexico, the Yoga Tree of Boise, Cascade & in other settings throughout the Northwest. She continues to attend advanced teacher trainings and workshops with master teachers, but feels her greatest influences are her students. Although she teaches a variety of classes, all grounded in sound biomechanics and mind-body-spirit integration, her favorite style is vinyasa.

Jennifer Sadhana
Jennifer has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and has a daily meditation practice. Through her personal practice Jennifer has learned that yoga promotes physical healing through increased flexibility, strength and balance, and with regular practice yoga also promotes emotional healing by helping us to begin to connect more deeply with who we really are. Jennifer enjoys sharing the healing power of yoga and has been teaching informally for about seven years. She loves Eric Schiffman’s idea that “Yoga teaches you to relax and trust the movement of life. With regular practice you learn to willingly go with the flow and thereby enjoy life more fully. With on-going practice you develop nonjudgmental awareness of yourself, others and events. “ With regular practice (Sadhana=Practice) we learn that yoga is more than having a super flexible body, standing on your head, and folding yourself into a pretzel. It’s more about how you live your daily life on a moment-to-moment basis. Jennifer invites everyone to come join the practice and begin your journey to a healthier more joyful life.
Jennifer has been a student of Debbi Murphy for over ten years and has completed the 200 hour teacher training at Shanti Yoga School. She is now a life-long yoga student and a part-time teacher at Shanti. In her spare time she is a special education teacher and avid outdoor enthusiast. |

Tiffane Falvey
I moved to McCall 10yrs ago. Fell in love with yoga when I was pregnant with my first baby boy. I got hooked on Debbi's classes right from the start and was fortunate enough to be in her first teacher training. Yoga fascinates me, the hidden power behind the poses, the vast reservoir of energy, designed by nature for the expansion of man kind. Yoga when channeled in the right direction can work miracles within the body and the brain to ignite a higher consciousness. |
